Helping across India and Nepal we will not give up!
Dear friend of India and Nepal’s animals:
We hope this update finds you well in spite of all the scary news and challenges in our world! We fervently hope you will remember those on the ground helping the animals day in and out.

Not All Warriors Roar. Some fight their battles in silence—and still win.
Hanuman, a young monkey in Varanasi was found in critical condition after a brutal dog attack left both his hands paralyzed. Alone, terrified, and in pain—his survival seemed impossible.
But compassion intervened. Neha ji, a dedicated volunteer, alerted Varanasi for Animals (VFA), a Help Animals India project. Though scared and defensive, Hanuman was rescued and rushed to the shelter.
Recovery wasn’t easy. He was angry and afraid. But patient care slowly replaced fear with trust—and healing began.
Hanuman found his spirit again—climbing, playing, and thriving. Today, he lives safe, free, and loved. Because someone cared. 🧡 Help more silent warriors like Hanuman.
Other “wildlife” is giving a big helping hand in other parts of India too as human encroachment on land makes if difficult for them and rescue needs to be done.

Day in and out “ABC” or animal birth control goes on for dogs primarily and cats too! Funding numerous projects in India and Nepal your donations can go very far indeed! In Varanasi 300 dogs are helped monthly with spay/neuter/vaccinations . We are making a difference where there is other help in sight!
Armed with love, courage, and unwavering determination, our team reaches these overlooked areas.
Every dog caught, every life saved, is a quiet act of compassion and a message to the them all: You are not forgotten.
None of this would be possible without the tireless efforts of our dog catchers, the skill and heart of our veterinary team, and the incredible strength of everyone behind the mission.
If you can help you are not just supporting a project — you're bringing hope to places that had none. If you’d like to help us continue reaching the forgotten, please donate.
Together, we’re building a kinder world — one dog at a time. And we support many other places too like Sneha’s Care in Nepal (photos above)!

Help Animals India is a big sponsor for the Elephant Care Facility near Bangalore which is currently home to six majestic elephants. The devoted team, comprising attentive mahouts, dedicated shelter staff, and skilled veterinarians, consistently exceeds expectations in tending to these magnificent creatures. Witnessing their meticulous care and dedication are genuinely heartwarming, contributing immensely to the thriving well-being of these gentle giants. Here are some resting from the intense India sun under a tamarind tree in their new happy lives!
Elephants are born for community. In the wild, they live in complex matriarchal societies where generations share knowledge, comfort, and protection. Touch, rumbling communication, and constant companionship define their natural existence.
Captivity shatters these fundamental bonds. Many elephants spend decades in isolation, chained alone, or confined with incompatible companions. They lose the ability to communicate naturally, develop social skills, or experience the comfort of their own kind.
At Help Animals India's supported sanctuaries like Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre - WRRC's Elephant Care Facility, rescued elephants rediscover what they were born for—each other.
Some experience gentle trunk touches for the first time in their lives. Others remember, after decades of solitude, what it means to walk alongside a friend. The tentative approaches, the gradual trust-building, the eventual companionship—each moment represents healing from years of enforced loneliness.
Watching formerly isolated elephants learn to communicate through rumbles, share food, and simply stand together speaks to resilience's incredible power. They're not just recovering from physical trauma—they're rebuilding their elephant identity through social connection.
These gentle giants teach us that healing happens in relationship, that some wounds can only mend through community, and that no creature should face life's challenges alone.

Announcement! Help Animals India is a major support for a new vegan festival in Nepal which will be held July 26, 2025 in Kathmandu! This is more than just a gathering, it's a powerful step toward promoting veganism in Nepal.
It holds the potential to plant seeds of compassion, sustainability, and awareness in the hearts of many.

From our grantee: Animal Nepal - Voice for the voiceless International Ban Live Animal Transport, a global call to end the suffering animals endure during live transport. In Nepal, this cruelty happens every single day—and it’s time to stop it.
From our fieldwork, Animal Nepal has witnessed shocking conditions:
- Buffaloes tied tightly by their noses and tails, dragged onto overloaded trucks
- Goats stuffed into luggage compartments or strapped to rooftops
- Chickens hung upside down on motorcycles, swinging in fear
- Animals crammed together without food, water, or rest, many arriving injured—or dead
This is not transportation. This is torment.
We’ve launched a petition calling on the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, and the Department of Livestock Services to take immediate action. We are demanding:
✅ A ban on long-distance live transport for slaughter
✅ Mandatory food, water, rest, and proper ventilation during transit
✅ Training and licensing for transporters
✅ Strong enforcement and penalties for violators
📢 Share it with your friends and networks—your voice can help end this disgrace.

We leave you with an update from our support to Karuna Society in South India. Here is the entire dedicated staff! And their report just for the past two months:

Help Animals India grants your kind donations to both well-established and emerging animal protection groups who confront daunting obstacles every day in their mission to rescue, shelter and fight for the rights of animals. We work closely with these groups and vouch for their courage, compassion and determination. Our guidance and your donations helps them improve their missions and operations so they can maximize their effectiveness as advocates for and defenders of all animals.
Thanks for reading! We wish you all the best in your efforts to bring happiness and comfort to all!
With deepest gratitude and appreciation from the Help Animals India team, our colleagues in India and Nepal, and the animals we love and serve.
